The Story of Teach Solas

Teach Solas is an online Irish Christian bookshop. We chose the name Teach Solas for our business as in the Irish language, Teach Solas means Lighthouse. The lighthouse is an important symbol in Ireland, being an island nation, as well as in the Christian faith. It represents a safe haven, a source of light and it stands on rock: which is a firm foundation. We want to be a resource in bringing the gospel and the hope we have to every citizen on this island.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

John 1:5

Who We Are?

Teach Solas is run by Irish Christians. We decided to use our God-given talents to create an online bookshop for Irish Christians. We hope that it will be a source of Christian books to study and expand your knowledge of the word.

What do we stand for?

We stand by our principles and moral guidance in what we sell and how we conduct our business. While we might make mistakes, we want God to guide our path and be the centre of the journey in bringing more biblical literature to the island. You won't find every book here but as we continue to grow we will be able to stock more for our customers.

Our core beliefs are summarised below:

We believe that we are saved by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus. We are not saved by good works; salvation is an unconditional gift of God based on the righteousness of Jesus, and His sacrifice on the cross.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9(NIV)

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2 (NIV)

We believe that God revealed himself through Jesus, inviting us into a saving and transforming relationship with Him. Jesus is the mediator between us and God. He is our Lord, Saviour and King.

“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died - more that that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:34 (NIV)

We believe that our purpose as Christians is to live our lives to the glory of God. The goal of life is to give glory to God alone. We do this by giving Him praise and thanks in all circumstances, and by fulfilling the Great Commission to share the Gospel with the whole world.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

We believe that the Bible is the true and living Word of God. The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand and obey scripture. As Christians, it is our highest authority; we seek to apply the Bible to our daily lives.

“All Scripture is God-breathed  and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)Add your text here
